More shows, bigger purses for Midwest All-Star teams

CAMARGO, IL. (4-4-11) By Brian Liskai – The mission of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Midwest All Star Sprints has not changed since its inception – to grow 410 sprint car racing by providing bigger purses while making series’ events affordable to tracks and entertaining for the fans.

In 2011, the Midwest All Stars are embarking on a new direction with the same mission. The series will move its emphasis to the Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia region with an 11-race schedule that will reward the champion and the top 10 in points.

“The Midwest All Stars will offer teams a chance to travel a little and experience different tracks…teams that cannot afford to travel with a full-time series,” said Guy Webb, President of All Star Championship Racing, which includes the Midwest All Stars.

Each of the 11 Midwest All Star events will feature at least a $3,000-to-win race with some paying $5,000.

The Midwest All Stars kick off their season on Saturday, April 30 at KC Raceway near Chillicothe, Ohio. Other events include a pair of $5,000 to win events at Western Pennsylvania’s Mercer Raceway Park (May 14 and Aug. 27); and a pair of races at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio (Aug. 28 and Oct. 2).
